Myanmar announces general election schedule

Malaysia's general election will be held sometime between December 2025 and January 2026.

Myanmar’s Union Election Commission on August 18 announced that the country will hold its general election, with the first phase scheduled to take place on December 28.

According to the commission, the election will be conducted in multiple phases, but specific dates for subsequent stages will be announced at a later time.

Earlier in June, the state-run daily The Global New Light of Myanmar quoted Myanmar’s military leader Min Aung Hlaing as stating that the general election will be held sometime between December 2025 and January 2026./.
